CHESAPEAKE BUYS TWO NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY OFFICE BUILDINGS (January 2006)

(Oklahoma City) Wiggin Properties transacted the sale of two office properties this month to Chesapeake Land Company, LLC a wholly owned subsidiary of Chesapeake Energy. 

One Western Plaza , a 51,980 square foot office building at 5500 North Western Avenue was purchased by Chesapeake for $3,775,000. Mr. David A. Huffman, Executive Vice President and Partner with Wiggin Properties handled the transaction for the sellers, which consisted of three Tenants in Common, GGB Properties, LP; Cornerstone Commercial, LCC; and 3217 Larissa Drive , LCC.  Ms. Jackie Hatton of Capital Abstract was the closing agent. 

One Western Plaza is a two story, multi-tenant property that was constructed in 1972.  It was 65% occupied at the time of the sale.

Earlier this month, Wiggin Properties completed another office building

sales transaction to Chesapeake when it sold the Two Grand Park Building , a 97,102 square foot, four story building at 5701 N Shartel .  The sale price was $6,500,000.  The seller was WP-5701 LLC. Charles Wiggin, President of Wiggin Properties, handled the transaction for the seller.  Marcia Chappelear of First American Title and Trust was the closing agent. 

Chesapeake will occupy the entire Two Grand Park Building relocating its Information Technology and Accounting divisions to the building upon completion of its renovation. There are no plans for the energy company to occupy the One Western Plaza building.
